My life journey has taken has brought me to a place where I am discovering my own creativity. I am passionate about encouraging others to be creative as well. Ususally the response is the same that mine used to be, “Oh, I am just not the creative type.” That is a LIE from the enemy.
To deny our creativity is to deny that we are made in the image of the Creator. I believe that we may all express our creativity in different ways … Picasso was an painter, Frank Lloyd Wright was an architect, Rachel Ray is a cook, Bill Gates is a computer geek, … but each is creative in their thinking and in their expression.
My friend at Living Abundantly is a creativity coach and has posted a great video from the Technology, Entertainment and Design Conference. This guy makes the point that our methods of education are nuturing creativity and independent thinking, in fact are very well squelching the creative process. It’s about 20 minutes long, you don’t even have to watch it, just listen. Trust me it is well worth the time.
The discussion now needs to be how to do something practical … how to release and nurture creativity in ourselves and our children, regardless of where and how they are being educated.
Any thoughts?
Immersed in the Mystery,
Cynthia
