I have some ideas about some regular features here that will keep the flow of my blog going even when I think I don’t have something to write about.  Sometimes I join with what others are writing which is how my I’m Lovin’ It posts for Mondays got started thanks to Tara. There’s another weekly meme that’s been in my queue to add to my blog.

Some time ago, I stumbled across The Simple Woman’s  Daybook. It is a weekly exercise in reflection and being mindful of the present.  Each week, participants finish prescribed sentences such as  …

Outside my window …

I am wearing …

I am going …

I am hearing …

Around the house …

I’ve been thinking about joining and writing this post each week. However, leave it to me to find issue.  First, I am not a simple woman. I am most definitely a complex woman.  At first, I thought I could write it as a complex woman who loves simple things … and I do, sort of. But I love complex things.  Second, I don’t want to be tied to finishing the same sentences each week. So, I send off blessings of grace and peace to those who are participating in that particular meme and I’ve decided to create my own.

A Complex Woman’s Annotations

Today I am …

feeling less than best, much less than best. Hormone related migraines have sent me to my bed, pounding me with pain and sensitivity.

giving myself permission to rest, to be quiet, to be unplugged.

cooking Italian Chicken sandwiches … with some assistance, from the bedroom. Thank you crockpot!

watching documentaries on netflix.  I know, it sounds counterproductive to dealing with my migraines but somehow it soothes me.

missing my church family. Due to holidays and snow and terrible sickness … and now migraines … it has been weeks since I have seen them.

making plans for when I am up and about. Only a short while, I hope, and I can be up and read to my children and print out the materials for my class.

reading nothing.

hearing the children move around the house, bumping and clanging.  They are busy with their projects and are contributing by cleaning up the kitchen.

hoping for a good week, one filled with health for all of my family.

asking you to join me.  I’d love to hear what’s happening in your present moment.  Feel free to borrow the title and maybe one day, this will be a big old party each week.  We’ll refine it together and who knows, one day we might have our own badge to share and commemorate.

Grace and Peace …
