I’m addicted to Green Smoothies!
Several days ago, in my seven random facts, I mentioned that I had a green smoothies for dinner the night before. Since then, I have had one every day. I first tried Green Smoothies last year during a cleansing raw diet I was trying in order to deal with some health issues. I had forgotten how good they are!
The basic ingredients for the smoothies I make are a huge handful of romaine, a huge handful of spinach, a huge handful of cilantro (this is the key ingredient for me … just gives the freshest flavor!), about a 1 to 1 ½ cups of frozen strawberries, about ¼ to ½ cup of pineapple if I have it, a squirt of agave nectar and just enough apple juice to keep things moving in the blender, about 1/3 cup probably. Blend until smooth.
There are other recipes out there on the internet but I haven’t strayed from this one so far. I love it so much and don’t want to mess with success. Here are some resources if you’d like to hop on the green machine!
BTW, I don’t have a Vitamix … yet. (I am saving my pennies for one!) Though that is the blender that is recommended, I have had great results with a Cuisinart and now with a L’Equip.
